Key 19 - The Sun

Our title is Mystical Child of the Sun.

And that, as you can see, is Tarot Key 19.

It's assigned to the Hebrew letter Resh, and Resh means head, but literally head that has to do with ability to think and more of the foreface part of the head, like the brow.

Along with the idea that we are here involved with thinking that has to do with being the head of something.

In other words, this has to do with an idea of leadership, even though we're looking upon a couple of children. And this we'll explain after a while. But remember these when you realize that race doesn't just mean head because with the Tarot key we took previously Tarot key number 18 the Hebrew letter there means the back of the head so our Qabalistic wisdom is making it very clear that there's a difference between the back of the head and the front of the head here we are dealing with conscious processes very conscious processes we are dealing with the front of the head and only man as we know has a forebrain developed to this degree other creatures the the amongst mammals some of them have the very beginnings the very faintest beginnings of a forebrain in man it it's extraordinarily large this very forebrain which in man is so different from other creatures is also an indication that in man and And only in man do we have the possibility of conscious processes, which have to do with our evolution, that is, of becoming awakened, of realizing exactly who and what we are, and of learning what, therefore, we're supposed to do about it.

Now the Hebrew letter resh is assigned kabbalistically to other ideas and remember the wisdom has been so arranged by the masters of the western school of development of growth that these various attributions which combine together within the ancient Hebrew Chaldean character which we call the Hebrew letters, the flame alphabet, which combine in terminologies that keeps the mind going round and round in one area instead of flying off in all directions without discipline. One it has been so developed that through the attributions the visual imagery we are able to stir subconsciousness we are able not only to stir a subconsciousness but we are able to take control of those aspects of subconsciousness which need transmutation which need changing which need need, indeed, regeneration. And so regeneration is another one of the terminologies, or the basic words or symbols that are involved with the idea of Karok-I number 19. We have regeneration, we have the front of the head, meaning basically also the conscious processes of the brain, the ability to think and the ability therefore to be the head of ourselves you might say to take ourselves in hand so to speak we have also the in collecting intelligence now this is a very interesting idea here in regarding the sphere of the activity of the Sun that's on the Tree tree of life called beauty because there's a relationship between the sun here called the collecting intelligence, which is one of the inner holy chakras at the heart center.

By heart center, we don't mean the physical heart, remember. We mean in and through the subtle body where the subtle or non-physical aspects of consciousness make connections to that which we experience as physical behind the group of nerves of the heart ganglion, I believe it is also called. Now that center, behind or within the heart, also called the one ego seated in the hearts of men, is closely related to the image-making power of beauty on the Qabalistic tree of life which you notice centers the entire tree.

Therefore, the true understanding of Key 19 is very intimately involved with being able to attain to the sphere of activity or to the outer powers or to the ability to function on this Qabalistic tree of life. Life is livingness, remember. To function from that center to become awakened and aware of that center and therefore to come to know that we are offspring of God remember the title is mystical child of the Sun now what do we mean by the Sun if you will recall that beauty on the Qabalistic Tree of Life is called the sphere of the activity of the sun and if you will recall also that whenever we have a golden sun in on the tree or in tarot we are always speaking about the solar logos of our particular system whenever we speak about the white sun or show a white sun we are speaking about the spiritual sun sun behind the particular sun of our solar system. Incidentally, the spiritual sun behind our solar sun is the same spiritual sun behind every star. That in itself helps us to see that the spiritual sun is basically the universal self, and that's why the white is given to to the crown, Kethik.

And yet that, even that white sun, is a development or a beginning of the whirlings out of what is called in Qabalah the limitless light, or the Ein Sof Auer, the Hebrew words, which completely mean limitless light. This limitless light is often even alluded to as darkness, because it's the kind of light that we cannot see with physical eyes. And yet it is limitless, and out of this limitless mind stuff, which is consciousness, comes the development of everything we see. Within our particular sphere of evolution, the solar locus for our particular solar system, is taught by Qabalah, by the entire Western Mystery School system, as being that part of the divine or God which can also be said to be the offspring of God in this manner.

And Yod-Heh-Vah-Heh Elohim said, Let us make man in our image after our likeness. Now, what is made in a like image after a likeness? This is always the offspring, is it not, of the same kind?

Of the same kind. In other words, the seed of a sunflower grows sunflowers. It doesn't grow moonflowers. And it doesn't grow starflowers. It grows sunflowers.

Why?

Have you ever stopped to wonder why? Why?

If you have stopped to wonder why, then you are already amongst those being regenerated because you've been regenerating yourself out of the old.

It seems to be that all consciousness that is functioning in and through a vehicle, once it becomes accustomed to something being around it's an idea idea like familiarity breeds content it sort of forgets it's there it might be in front of them seeing they see not that might even make noise hearing they hear not it might even move moving it is still not anything there for our attention. And the result is that because we've gotten accustomed to different things, we have lost that sense which we have to regain.

We have to regain. And no one is going to regain it for us or give it to us as a gift on any platter. Because having gained, shall we say, the forebrain, see, the race is signifying the front of the head, basically. Having gained the for this forebrain we are in a position of having to literally give birth to ourselves all over again remember what rabbi jesus said except ye be born again ye shall in no wise enter the kingdom of heaven now here is where the greatest mistake has been been made people think of the kingdom of heaven as being what you go to when you die but in qabalah this is not so and qabalah incidentally knows it's right I say so with great authority I feel very authoritarian about that because I really know I really know on the qabalistic tree of life, kingdom. There's kingdom. That's the fruit of the tree.

That's the manifest universe, or that is the infinite limitless light universe, which we experience in a specialized way because we have both a back of the head and a front of the head, because we have what this Tarot key represents. The ability to be aware within a field, within a limited field, in other words, the ability to be aware in and through a vehicle that gives us a range of awareness that we call the five senses. And so here, your subconsciousness through Tarot Key 19 is being given the fantastically intense image.

You are receiving the impact of the idea that you can learn while you're filled with wonder, dancing in a fairy ring, in a wondrous miracle. Because this fairy ring you notice each of them these the male and female which is subconsciousness and self-consciousness as well as indicating anything and everything that having to do with the pair of opposites which brings birth and rebirth like begetting like the Sun is always shining in the heavens whether we are seeing it in and through our senses or experiencing it or not the Sun is always there what about nighttime the Sun is the Sun is there it's there the fact that we are rotating and the Sun is shining first on one side and then the other it's still there it is still still holding this planet and all the tremendous tender livingness within itself.

That means you and the sun seed and the walnut, which will only give birth to a walnut tree, you know.

No matter where we think the sun is, it's cloudy, the sun is there.

Remember in the last tarot key we pointed out all evolution and all growth takes place in cycles everything has to be cyclic this is the only way consciousness can become aware in order to know the light we have to know the darkness in order to know joy we have to go through its opposite this is all part of a process but the point is beyond and above the a pair of opposites, is that eternal glory, is that golden sun, which is a collecting area for all of the stardust of the universe, which it shines out into and through us. We do not live outside the sun, as we've pointed out to you many a time. We live inside the Sun there is no such thing as outside anyway we live within the rays of the Sun the Sun as dr. Case has mentioned in the lessons and by quoting a scientist so gloriously it is the Sun that has lifted up the mountains and dug out the rivers it is the Sun that is birthed every every last bit of livingness from the single-celled creature to this extraordinary complexity, this fantastic delicacy of vehicle.

So fantastically delicate is this vehicle that it has to have all of this loving cradling.

You've watched a mother cradling her infant? It is gross in comparison to the cradling you receive from your divine parents.

Imagine all of the extraordinary things that go on to cradle you in every way, shape, or form, because there isn't a thing that is or moves or breathes. There isn't a thing that speaks or calls, that rings or roars. There isn't a thing that moves that isn't the motion, the energy of the consciousness of the solar locus holding you, rocking you in its arms, in its infinite arms.

Everything, everything and you knew it not well remember whatever you are, you are whether you know it or not and you are even if you want to think of it in out and out rank materialistic terms you cannot get away from the fact that you are offspring of the sun ask any scientist no matter how materialistically minded, in any university of the world.

And he will tell this to you.

You exist.

You are livingness. The Qabalistic tree of life. Life, life.

Livingness.

The fact that livingness is. This is the miracle.

And that miracle means that livingness is its own witness to the fact that God is the divine creator is and it isn't somewhere else it has to be inside and around with and through this livingness you are livingness and you cannot have been begat or begot or begotten or begotted except from like kind so your consciousness is offspring of the sun of life and light and this is the tarot key that says it in a thousand and one different ways multiplied by itself that's why you see the face in the sun the number of rays tell it to you in one way The fact that you have both wavy and straight rays are telling it to you in another way. The fact that sunflowers are being shown is telling it to you in another way. And the very wall is telling you how grateful you should be for the ability and the capacity to experience separateness.

And yet not go into the nonsense of thinking you are separate nothing is separate from anything else we are a unity but specialized and so the wall, Dr. Case makes quite a point of reminding you that a stone wall stone, the Hebrew word stone is called Eben and Eben is Ab the first part of it which is the father and Ben is the second part of it which is the son and remember that means that the father and the son are one and that's the perfected stone of the alchemists so even this stone the fact that this is a stone wall rather than a brick wall you remember that with the brick wall you're diluted by the towers with the stone wall you you know that you are unified. Even that wall is telling you that you experience yourself as separate, but you are unified with and at one with all that lives.

Also, the children and the son. You are child of the son. You are a livingness that is beyond comprehension.

Now, except you become as a little child, ye shall no wise enter the kingdom of heaven remember kingdom means the manifested universe it means experiencing just that this extraordinary miracle of life in and through the apparent limitations of form we should therefore treasure every little detail We should not permit ourselves to develop that familiarity breeds contempt response to anything. Notice that Tarot Key 19, the two numbers, have the magician as the number one. You can see the magician up above you, concentration and attention. And a young man, incidentally, combined with the number nine. If you look to the right above, the hermit, that's the number nine. Now you can see that the hermit, the number nine, is the ancient of days. It's a symbol of an old soul that's attained. It's a symbol of a master of compassion. It's also a symbol of the divine father that has attained the wisdom of the father and the unity with the father.

And you notice what that wisdom, the experience of age, is doing. It's holding out a light to the rest of humanity toiling up that hill, climbing. And notice that light. It's a six-rayed star.

Number six on the tree of life is beauty. That's the sun.

Every one of you have seated in your heart a light, a spark which is the self same stuff of the spiritual son not just like it the same same thing you are the seed of your divine parents there is naught else there is naught else now that number six remember is the true ego seed in the the hearts of men. It is assigned to the Messiah, but we have to attain our Messiahhood. We have to become our own redeemers. And then we become, then we rebirth ourselves. We also resurrect ourselves, which we'll talk of in more detail when we take up the next Tarot Key 20. And the difference between the nine part and the one part of this Tarot Key really basically is having taken that that spark deep within our hearts, which is forever good and forever pure and undefiled, which is offspring of the sun, which is the true center of our consciousness, having taken it and fed it with our attention, remember the attention of number one, you feed the flame, you fan that spark and flame of your awareness.

You fan it and fan it so that it becomes more and more of a conflagration within you and you become more and more of the sun of life and light. And what is the secret? Well, there's more than one secret, but remember, the one thing a child has is wonder.

You don't let yourself start taking anything for granted.

You reawaken the sense of wonder, the sense of wonder that I am.

Livingness. To watch every creature and remind yourself the miracle of this livingness, to kiss any beloved, whether it's a beloved child or a beloved pet or a beloved husband or a beloved wife or sister or brother, and not to just, you know, a peck or take-for-granted kiss, but to put your attention right to where the nerve endings of lips touch cheek or brow or lips or hand or whatever and feel the miracle, the livingness.

Put your attention there and say, this miracle of experience.

I can experience this mystery of touch.

I am mystery. I am mystery I am miracle I am consciousness my God I am livingness and there is naught else all things are you are mystical child of the sun and for God's sake gee that sounds like I'm swearing but for God's sake I'll sound like it if necessary let's together become a burning conflagration of this glorious sun of life and light that we are so that we wondrously say thank you God for the awarenesses through all of these senses that have learned and will therefore learn evermore to be servant to God and finally offspring and ruler.
