Now the title of my lecture for this morning is The Vibratory Power of Certain Words.

Now we hang on to responses, not because we want to on a conscious level, but there is something in the evolving spirit of all life that always clings to the pattern it knows, even if that pattern is destructive.

We have a tendency to stay within the environment of power power that has had to do with the vibratory power of certain words which have become emotionally and mentally fixated in ourselves.

And, of course, it's overcoming each pattern of fixation and going on to the next, which which really involves evolution and attaining to the highest spiritual standards. It's remaining stuck within the patterns that keeps us caught in the broken groove or the deeper groove of a record where we play the same record or the same sound over and over to ourselves because we think it takes too much energy to get out of it. And the truth of the matter is, it isn't until we are so completely desperate that we cannot bear any further despair and desperation. We suddenly discover the energy to get out of a groove that is fantastically horrible, where it would have taken less energy to have gotten out of it five, ten, twenty years before.

Haven't you looked back on your lives and seen this?

So to say, I have no energy left to do this and that, is just another way of fooling ourselves.

And now can you see why true spiritual aspirants are not as plentiful as one yearns for? Because how many of us are ready and willing to say, I am not this way because my mother and or father and or whoever said and did this to me.

I am this way because I was immature, infantile, a suggestible received this infantile suggestible idea, and how was it done through words and emotional impact, which gives these words extra power. And then we'll go on to some of the occult aspects of this in other ways. The vibratory power of certain words is involved in our ability to understand the symbolic significance instead of being determined to be literal.

I mean 100% literal.

Now the power, the true power, vibratory power of certain words, has to do with our hypnotic suggestibility, our literal mindedness, instead of our use of this other power which is our universal power and this other power being the power to take anything that is given us in word and retranslating it into symbol and by retranslating it into symbol in our own minds we We free ourselves step by step from the tyranny of the emotional traumas and the inertias, the things that make us stay in sordid areas, the things that make us give ourselves excuses for not walking out of conditions and situations. By walking out, I don't mean walking out irresponsibly. I mean getting to work on getting out from under that which is destructive to ourselves and or others or our true goals.

Now, the power of words has to do with our having developed in our infantile levels. Remember, we all learned how to speak when we were infants, every one of us.

Human beings learn how to communicate through words as children. And along with this communication, these words, we take on certain emotional factors that have also been communicated, but which we are not usually aware of.

And I have seen emotion rise up in minds where just the mildest kind of quip is used. In personal relationships, you have this occur fantastically often.

Now, you may have wondered then, why do we go in for chanting? Now, all true occult schools of thought that have the true tradition behind them, and there are very few of these, incidentally, use the methods that bypass the conditionings of words because the emotions are automatically going to rise with certain words, and we're going to come across them all the time.

The in order to speak to the soul in order to speak to subconsciousness we have to bypass the analytical faculty of the mind not the mind mind you the analytical faculty that has to do with with what in occultism is called the lower mind, basically.

Because we have a higher mind that involves all of the powers of concentration, perception, understanding, synthesis. And we misinterpret this. We think when we have good intellects that this is good mind. No.

I've known the most brilliant intellects who are morons mentally. Haven't you known some of them? Or emotionally, or both. On the other hand, I've known some people whose intellects are very poor, but who have very rich mentalities, but the rich mentality would not be able to express itself.

Therefore, not to have a good intellect is being hampered in one's ability to express. So we must evolve a good intellect but we must also know that we cannot worship this intellect as being the mind it is a tool like if we're good musicians we have to have a good piano that's in tune and the intellect is having a good instrument that can express the mind without the instrument no matter how good the mind is, we're not going to be able to express ourselves, and we're going to drive other people crazy.

That is, especially people who have a little more intellect, and they're not going to be able to understand what's going on. Now, bypassing the conditioned aspects of the consciousness that react emotionally to certain words, sentences, terms, can be done only, and especially when we're thinking of it in terms of permanency, only through communication in a way which is not dependent on that area of conditioning.

And so in occultism, everybody has to learn how to understand, intellectually understand the symbols.

Why? Why? Because your consciousness, my consciousness, all consciousness is in terms of symbols. This is how consciousness really thinks. When we communicate in words, what we do is we take the symbol, which is the picture, and then we translate this picture into a verbal symbol, which is abstract. It's like if I see a tree, I'm having the experience of a tree, but when I say the word tree that doesn't give you the experience, does it? It's a word. You see, it's away from the direct experience.

And we're going to have all kinds of reactions because of the word tree. But if I present you with a symbol, a picture, then you're not going to have a reaction that has to do with the conditioned part of your consciousness.

Furthermore, your inner knowledge is going to be able to come to the fore because you're not going to have to bring up blocks, you're not going to have to bring up reactions, you're not going to have to bring up certain resistances.

And when you don't have to resist, you're more open. In other words, you become more suggestible.

But suggestible on a positive level, because all these tarot keys have been designed from the powers of your consciousness.

They have been designed to express the positive part of your consciousness.

Every human being dreams and symbols in all kinds of experiences that have to do with mystical states. One of the things that has surprised the so-called scientifically trained people, the psychiatrists, the psychologists, is the fact that even those who consider themselves atheists have experiences that deal with symbols, with sound turning into light.

Now what is the chanting in terms of the power of the word if you'll notice what is said in the poetic affirmations you know I reach to thee O Divine Father etc now hold me O Adonai notice Notice what we're doing. We're creating an image. We're creating an image, and we're therefore using the power of the word to form an image for you, but at the same time, we are projecting the vibration of the voice. Now, one who has attained to whatever state of consciousness, if in case you haven't been aware of this, always projects that state via the voice, no matter what they're saying. Of course, if they're using the communication of words as we learn to use them intellectually, it is more understandable to others around us, because there's a chance of getting together, at least a chance. There's a better chance of getting together when we use symbols where we have no conditioning.

And that has to do with the symbols of occultism, which are natural to the language of the soul.

Now, in this language of the soul, this chant, not this chant, but these many chants that we do, please remember that our Eastern brethren make it quite clear that the universe is begun by the power of vibration or sound, as they call it. But actually that is a sound beyond verbal sound. It's the vibration of the chant that starts a whole chain of expansion of consciousness, opens up the psychic and spiritual faculties, basically.

Now these chantings then are ways at reaching towards and becoming attuned to are these vibratory levels of consciousness which belong to our higher self.

They therefore belong to us because the higher self is not something separate from us. The personality, the intellect, these are the instruments that the higher self is building. Now, when we use these methods, then, what we're doing is bypassing the very portion of our expressiveness temporarily.

Remember, just temporarily, which holds us in bondage.

And we're reaching into a vibratory attunement with those highest levels of ourselves together. And when we do it together we always have that much more power for each of us as well as for the inner school to use for the evolution of humanity therefore when we chant the divine name a heya for example remember every Hebrew letter which has which is a Chaldean character It's an ancient age old formula, also part of what has often been called the angelic language. Every one of these characters has a number, and these numbers have to do with vibratory formulas. Formulas, and even though your conscious mind may not know this yet, there will come a time when your conscious mind will be aware of all these intricacies by direct perception, provided you use the methods outlined. But then when we chant the divine name, for example, ahea, which means the one, the only, unity, what we are doing is reaching together to a vibratory formula like attuning a radio or a TV station to some very difficult to get station in order to get our own consciousness vibrating in harmony with that consciousness so there can be a partaking between the two not just to receive from but to receive from and give back vibration is back and forth please always remember this never reach to get this is one of the biggest mistakes that we we make. We can pray our heads off, do this and that and the other, and this is just a lot of the getting down and pleading that in the long run amounts to nothing. What we've got to do is have an inner determination finally that we are praying in order to perfect ourselves so that we can that much more adequately give. And this is our only purpose. And we should never say, I'm empty, I'm finished, you know, this is it. Because this is just the self-dramatization of a sort of echo of very past infantile patterns that make us feel important. And what do you think you're doing? Vibratory power of words. We, and every word, you see, recreates an image in our minds. And we're recreating and recharging images that have had infantile beginnings. It's the idea of the focus of consciousness that is building and building and recognizing it cannot afford to keep building that which is going to keep refocusing into the same patterns we want to keep focusing up now along and with the person but with the personality alone we simply cannot do it you can try and try no personality strong enough and those who think they are strong enough are going to have some shocks in store for them.

Haven't you noticed any time you said, Aha, now I'm over this or that weakness, have you discovered that something happened and you had it worse than before? Before you overcame it so grandly and beautifully?

Whatever trait, haven't you noticed when you've been so proud of a trait that finally something has occurred that knocked you down? Humility. Humility good occultist never say I will never think so-and-so or feel so-and-so a good occultist says I hope I have seen why it's necessary not to ever permit myself to fall into the trap of letting that emotion or thought grow in me and And therefore, to learn how to utilize the power of the communicative level of God that will bypass and therefore help to transmute the communicating level that goes on between man and words, is the most vital thing we can do in occultism to lift ourselves and to sensitize ourselves to our most potent and spiritual faculties and to receive the energy we need at all times when we need it for all things that are necessary.

So attuning ourselves to the chant of aheya is a lift towards the one, the only, the indivisible.

Chanting Yod-Heh-Vah-Heh is getting away from that image we have of our Father, whether we adored him, which might have been, everything has certain negatives as well as positives when we're evolving souls, or not. But to get away from that focus, to see Father as Divine Father, Yod-Heh-Vah-Heh, mistranslated as Jehovah in the Bible, The chant that is getting into the vibration, the inner plane communication, that which bypasses the other levels of, or the other and more negative levels of conditionings, so that we start responding properly to the principles of the divine masculine father.

And in the same way we recondition our reactions to whoever was in this incarnation the physical father.

Each thing retransmutes that which we have on the physical plane by learning how to apply it. The same way we chant Elohim, and this is the vibratory formula for attuning ourselves to be receptive to and sending this receptivity back. Everything has to be back and forth flow.

Attuning to and then having sent back to us this Elohim, Elohim, divine womb of creation. And that way we help ourselves to overcome our negative responses to our physical mothers, realizing that the physical mother was also and is also a human personality evolving, weeping, growing weak. And we love the weaknesses we do as a child, seeing the true principle is in the deity that has begotten us in all ways and the only way we can get to read transmute in this manner is through the help we get that has to do with the occult forces you cannot achieve to the highest and keep control of it without using the power of chant now this is a strong statement to make isn't it you say what about people who suddenly had divine illuminations I'm not saying that people can't suddenly have an illumination I'm talking about attaining and using and focusing these powers how many times you've worked at it through how many incarnations your soul knows and the divine knows.

But we've got to use methods that will keep us in harmony with the vibratory formulas that will help us to overcome the tyranny of the emotional patterns and inertias of the word, intellectual word levels. And this doesn't mean I repeat sneering at words. It means learning how to understand where they must not tyrannize us. So bear in mind, the chanting we do here has a purpose far more profound than anyone recognizes.

When one or more have attained to an ability to be aware of this power and chant and is present to bring it in and through, acting like a pipeline, line. To do it once is not enough. It should be regularly, rhythmically, you should not miss it. You should do it regularly here as group, and at home you should enter into the spirit of it and do it as an extra tune-in until again you can replenish in group. And in this manner, and through the color and sound class, you get to understand all of this more fully. You will develop a higher psychic sensitivity, a greater spiritual awareness, a deeper ability for wholeness.

You will start seeing and feeling yourselves into the powerhouse that gives you the ecstasy not only of receiving, but of receiving and giving simultaneously. Simultaneously, because all receiving will automatically become a giving at the same time, and much more that we can't go into now. Don't let literal words throw you.
