Attainment on the Tree of Life - Class 3

Today we're going to discuss the question of polarity. Polarity. What is it? Well, when we try to analyze the ideas that involve polarity, we have to go back to the Qabalah.

Because the Qabalah is said to hold the whole secret of gender. What do we mean by the secret of gender? This is of course polarity, that is the ability to know the opposite and without the ability or the capacity to know the opposite it's impossible to have self-consciousness at all. In other words in order to know that I am I self-consciously we have to have something against which to compare the I in other words we have to have some idea of I am I as against something that is not I and of course here is where our problems have come in because the whole development of separatism the whole emotional response to life that deals with separatism is really that development of consciousness which has concentrated itself in order to become aware of its basic I am or I am-ness if that has more meaning to you which cannot be known in detailed manner except that it has something to compare itself with now this of course I am familiar with though until we have at least one experience in which we know the idea that is involved in what our eastern brethren call nirvana until we have at least one such experience of the ideas that involve nirvana or samadhi these are the eastern terms though in qabalah we like to call it the limitless light because it is more in harmony with the basic tenets of consciousness in other words those of us who have a certain stage of evolutionary development or awareness we know that there's a limit to which our consciousness can go and beyond that we find everything incomprehensible now everybody has a special limit and the idea of the one the Chesed the I am on the tree of life that white circle beginning of the whirling this really isn't a static something for everyone because we all have different levels at which we draw what Qabalists called the three veils which involve the idea of limitless light and behind the three veils you have the einstaff hour the einstaff hour which is the absolute or that which is behind manifestation the cosmic womb of life and different human beings have different levels at which they can start thinking about that which we may call their own reality So that what is comprehensible to those of us who have achieved one level of evolution is completely incomprehensible to others.

And the three veils, therefore, are drawn at different points of evolution depending on what your level is, how far your consciousness can reach. Now, in according to Qabalah, then, the idea of cosmic consciousness, or samadhi, has a different degree of comprehensibility in accordance with our own evolutionary age or the age of the soul.

Now, in essence, the idea of evolution, though, must be thought of in this way, that the one self, the universal self, when it looks into itself, which is the idea of the beginning of the whirling or the concentration of its own essence to bring about the evolution of points of self-consciousness when this one essence this one cosmic being looks into itself what it sees is its own nature now its own nature it sees as being both projecting and formative or masculine and feminine or force and form or outgoing and organizing so that you might think of it in this way that when the one universal being looks into itself it maps out an area within itself which becomes a concentration and this concentration then this mapping out is a realization of the nature of its own being that is deity sees the two sides of its own consciousness the outgoing projecting in a sense compulsive part of its consciousness as well as the in drawing the concentrating the manufacturing of a type of organizational aspect of its own consciousness think of it in this way the masculine power on the right hand side of the tree that is headed by Chokmah the father the masculine power this is projective compulsive and this is the fourth type of energy that we call the masculine power of the father, chokmah, wisdom. This projective aspect goes out in a straight line of light or what we experience as light. However this light can't go go on in a straight line because at the same time the nature of deity is self-concentration now self-concentration sends out an idea but every idea is involved in self so it makes a circle then think of the straight line as trying to go out in a straight line but not being able to stopped held and therefore it starts curving just like the magnet curves in its line of force the iron filings have to they find themselves drawn to the magnetic center if you will think then of the cosmic power or the cosmic projective consciousness as reaching out for new evolutionary experience in which it creates centers of its own beingness you can then see that the reaching out could be thought of as an attempt at a straight line which is the masculine force but at the the same time the feminine force comes into being because it is both at the same time and draws it into a circle and therefore the masculine force is compulsive and diffusing the feminine force draws in forces something back to its own center and is organizing therefore Chokmah the father on the Tree of Life is the diffusing compulsive outpouring of fire and seed of life. Bina, the feminine force, the dark circle, is the in drawing it pulls back to itself in other words it gives meaning that's why it's called understanding that's one of its many names it gives meaning to the in to this force draws it back on itself and this is what evolves self-conscious centers within the one life or deity consider then that the masculine and feminine and force together make for that outpouring of energy on all levels and the in-pulling of this energy that makes the spiral circle and when you look out in the universe what do you see spiral nebulas spiral circulars you see it in what we call our own Milky Way you see it in other nebulas they are all spiral circles and when you come down to our solar systems you see the same thing the solar center and the development of planets spiral circles they are all within the same group of energies all right now then consider the awareness of freedom is the ability to go out you know this is a masculine force incidentally but what happens is what the feminine force or that which Qabalah calls the feminine force doesn't let it go out and dissipate and get lost it pulls it back there's where you get you concentration and that is why the feminine force has been called the fall of Adam in other words the wild free ecstasy is masculine force the imprisonment of the fire of life and isn't that what woman does when she takes the fire or seed of man and builds and grows within her womb an organized center of selfhood isn't that what what feminine force does this is exactly in accordance with Qabalistic understanding perception and insight we have then the realization that the masculine force would go out and dissipate itself if it weren't taken in by the severity of the feminine force that holds and concentrates in order to bring about new centers new awarenesses understanding of evolution so you have for example in the bible in some of the stories of creation you have the idea of Eve tempting Adam you have the principle really involved of the imprisoning of force and yet unless you imprison force unless you take take the wild outpouring of compulsive energy and bring it into a center. Hold it in a special area. You get nothing. For example, some people spread themselves thin, don't they? All over the lot and what have they got nothing surfaces other people have depths concentration you have then the idea the basic masculine force if it were not conditioned by the feminine force would dissipate itself and you'd have no evolution at all the feminine force takes this outpouring or projection of the life of the absolute and it holds it within an area that can bring depth concentration it keeps it from dissipation and and the very dissipation that would have taken place is the energy that deepens the cup of awareness and develops self-consciousness, evolution.

And what is evolution?

It is the compressing of spiritual substance into what we call the physical universe. Now in our Eastern philosophies we have the very unhappy development of the false interpretation of this idea they've had true meditative perceptions but false interpretations and what does this amount to it amounts to this idea that they have mistranslated, misinterpreted the principles involved. They have thought of imprisonment of consciousness as being something we must escape from. In Qabalah it is definitely taught that not until we see that what looks like imprisonment of consciousness is really the formative power of God not until then are we remotely evolving towards the higher parts of our being so the positive and so-called negative the the projective and the holding, the outgoing and the in-whirling. These are the pair of opposites that really involve the development of the physical universe and the bringing about of an awareness of the significance of sex. Consider for a moment. As I pointed it out just a little while ago if you have a continuous outpouring of energy in a straight line what would occur nothing it diffuses but because the feminine force forces it gravitationally incidentally into a curve a curve of lines and modern science completely verifies this you have this forcing back through the curve the actual concentration of the consciousness of God into a manifestation of its own selfhood, its own power now then, when we take that through the different levels of evolution what do we find?

We find that the most primitive forms divide themselves as cell structures for living life they divide themselves into sister and notice our scientists even call it sister cells and they do not need an opposite force outside or what they think is outside of themselves but when we come to more evolved and more complex forms you need the conscious cooperation between the projecting outpouring masculine force and the intaking feminine force now this holds a secret of gender Qabalah said is said to have the whole secret of gender what is polarity what is involved in masculine than men what is involved in the pair of opposites mainly this and I am happy to tell you that I am able to know it from direct experiences more than one indeed and I want you to share this with me it is certainly possible to have the awareness of a cosmic level of our being it is those of us who have a certain age of soul can do it although incidentally so can animals but animals do it in one way human beings in another it is certainly possible to experience this level for those who have developed the capacity to tune in to that vibratory range.

But you know just like remember you have to be tuned in by your telephone number to the vibratory range of another party. You have the same principle anywhere and everywhere really.

Think then that the ability to tune in to a vibratory range has to do with the opening up of the consciousness on certain levels without getting lost in other words your individuality has to be held tight now when you hold your individuality it's because you are working with the feminine principle of God curious as this may sound because it is the project it is the formative formative the holding in the bringing to a center the whirling inwards of the concentration of the energy that is the masculine energy that brings about this ability to work with the forming and proving and therefore evolving aspects of consciousness the masculine principle as I pointed out before is full of this ecstasy of just profuse giving that's why you have untold numbers of sperm coming from the masculine in the act of sex but in the feminine what have you got one little ovium manufactured from the ovaries that could be impregnated and yet untold numbers of little creatures of light are fighting each other to get to that center that is that ovium in order to impregnate it.

You can see even in the physical aspect of reproduction then this extraordinary phenomenon of the diffuse giving of the masculine force and the concentrated receiving of the feminine which brings about something specific, specialized, unique, formative, therefore which is the principle of the manifestation aspect of godhood now unfortunately our eastern brethren think of the manifestation of godhood as being illusion and delusion but in qabalah this this is not permitted in qabalah we say that manifestation is what deity is out for and that not until you manifest have you remotely proven the power of your individualized selfhood and certainly those of you and I hope most of you have experimented who have followed the elementary metaphysics have found that when you really are concentrated concentrated mentally and emotionally on a specific idea it manifests. It certainly does. Of course, it's most often it's what we think or realize we didn't want after all.

And we take the repercussions, but the point is we start to see the extraordinary power of the ability to concentrate an idea, an image, and it gives understanding of course. To Genesis in itself, which we'll talk about in other types of talks. Now then, what is the polarity of masculine-feminine? Let's examine it. What is involved then in the outgoing masculine force and the in-drawing feminine force?

Unfortunately, with all the misinterpretations, we have men on the whole except for the few glorious and adorable exceptions screaming, at least since recorded history about the terrible aspects of the female and the marvelous aspects of the male on the other hand we have the feminine interpretation of life thinking of things in the opposite direction and yet what is it when you look at the tree of life you can see that the masculine pillar headed by wisdom is the color gray and of course those of us who have ambivalence will say that's what the masculine force should be called gray because not many people think gray is pretty and women on the whole except for those few who had deeper perceptions think of the masculine force as being very gray indeed and lacking in really the riches that would be thought of as the opposite of gray but then the masculine force and the masculine interpretation if it hasn't looked deeply enough will look at the color of Bino which heads the feminine pillar on the Tree of Life and they will say hmm black is a proper color for female indeed you know the fall of Adam don't we blame it on Eve this terrible dark temptation she's the reason for it all so here we have the female principle thinking gray and gray you know nothing could be more dismal than gray I think it's more dismal than black don't you we have the female and thinking of gray as being tremendously dismal and we have the male thinking of black as being really completely incomprehensible and very often quite terrible instead of enjoying the mystery or mystery at least in terms of their own consciousness alluring yes all of the highly evolved male sees it as alluring that's a very excellent observation but how many masculine principles or feminine principles have we got who are able to see in the higher levels and interpret from the levels that are more in harmony with the cosmic understanding this is very true how it should be is one thing how it is is another every infant has to go through its immaturities and infantile reactions and humanity on the whole is an infant let's face it it is an infant therefore you have these interpretations so that the development of ambivalence of course is very much seen wherever we look between the sexes and yet the principle as seen here and shown here by Qabalah is very other as a matter of fact no single man as a human man is even remotely capable of experiencing deity in the really deepest measure except that a female or more than one helps him to see the principle of life as the female experiences it and at least to whatever degree he is open to receiving it no single man can remotely have an understanding of evolution except a female helps him to see the riches of the emotional life no male is even remotely able to experience a truly depth of personal love except a female lures entices and helps him to experience it on the other hand no female is even remotely able to have the drive the fire except a male bestows it upon her this is the beneficence the charge the drive the life power in itself is the masculine force the forming the taking in of this drive this power this seed this is the feminine force and the feminine force takes the seed and builds it and grows it but there is nothing to grow unless one is open to the masculine force there is nothing to evolve except the male is open to becoming a participant with the feminine force and yet bear in mind that if we were to jump with our imagination to a level beyond manifestation the masculine force is compulsively being driven in a straight line it has to release itself and express its force that's why you have the compulsive sex nature of the male by the way and this is something that's very difficult for women to understand understandably difficult because the feminine nature recognizes that no force has meaning unless it is concentrated so it digs a little depth you therefore have those who are promiscuous they spread themselves thin all over the lot and what have they accomplished a hundred percent nothing and they dissipate the force of their own self evolution as well as dissipating the force that would evolve the planetary soul and the universe spreading themselves thin yeah women will do the same thing don't forget women may be positive on on the plane of the psychic or astral emotional level but they're very negative on the receptive physical level and negative on the mental receptive level as they must be to get power remember just like in the atom you have the positive nucleus of the atom and the so-called negative electrons you have no power unless you have both really you have to have them in combination and the secret of sex and the use of sex for the highest spiritual development has to do with realizing that even to what we might think of as the lowliest atom though no scientist would be bold enough or brazen enough to tell you that he understands what an atom is an atom they work with it we explode and we destroy each other with the power of the atom in the atomic and hydrogen bombs both by diffusing and by bringing inward the hydrogen is the bringing inward and the atom bomb as such is the projecting outward each of them really though do what they show us that the power of the atom itself has to do with the pairs of opposites there can be no experience there can be no knowledge there can be no understanding the seven in principle is understanding on the tree of life dina is called understanding as you can see if you look at the tree there can be no manifestation no evolution of centers of self-conscious awareness except through the interrelationship of the pairs of opposites but the thing that happens in this world because we are young and do not understand don't you remember how you used to blame other people for things when you were children and later you saw how foolish you were well we do the same things now and the the level of our evolution changes these attitudes nevertheless the point is that only as we come to recognize the fact that the feminine principle is sterile and empty unless the masculine principle fertilizes it.

And only as the masculine principle realizes and comes to see that it is incapable of manifesting anything unless the feminine principle receives it and grow it and multiply it as happens with the first fertilized seed in the womb of the mother of any living creature. It takes a single seed and it divides and multiplies and divides and multiplies in an organized manner. In the same way, only through the ability to see and accept these principles can we remotely come to the higher levels of perception. All mystics have described their cosmic consciousness experiences with what has often been called erotic expressions why the horrible thing that has occurred in this world really is that because man in the spiral circle of evolution has become lower than the animals during the swing around in order to develop self-consciousness and the understanding of the powers of the concentrated part of the substance of God which is the consciousness of God man has become so divided so separated away just in the mind not in reality because no one can be in reality but in the consciousness and interpretation of life that man has come to see certain areas of life in a completely darkened in a completely warped way this happens to be the truth so that the Master R has said not once but I'd hate to tell you how many times he has said that not until a human being can change his or her attitude towards the primary power of life which on the physical plane expresses itself as a sexual attraction between the sexes and the reproductive powers that bring about the birth of new creatures that not until man can see this principle the way it really exists can the powers be released to experience cosmic consciousness why well think think for a moment we think of cosmic consciousness as what? Conscious union with God and life. Would you disagree with that idea? What is union? What is union? Now just you ask yourself this question. Now then, have you got the unmitigated gall to think of union on one plane as being evil and yet you say to yourself I yearn to have union with God do you think you could remotely have real union with God? If you think of union with one half of God, that is the masculine half of God, or the expression of that union, that is merging with your mate in the principle of unity and love.

If you think of that as being an evil as being against the cosmic idea or ideal do you think that you are open to the higher levels of the same energy can't you see how nonsensical that would be we have been very wrongly educated we have been very wrongly conditioned if we cannot revere the principle of unity in its principle not in the way when evolved creatures express it but as its principle if we cannot revere this and see it as an expression of the unity with one part of God with another how do we expect to experience the unity of God in other ways do we think by that by by looking with sneers and leers upon one level that we are taking an energy and and giving us or giving ourselves a spiritual capacity we're doing the opposite the very opposite not until we see in our own hearts that every single living creature every single atom every single manifestation that is exists and is because union is taking place between two aspects of God not until we are open to seeing this not until we can say yes wherever union is is taking place whether it is chemical or so-called chemical which includes the mineral you know or whether it is a part of separate aspects of so-called living life or whether it is between two organized and complex patterns of living life from the single cell to the human being not until we can say that all union is the unity of God taking place are we open to experiencing the cosmic oneness with the Most High this is revering the principle of unity incidentally only man takes this principle of unity and calls it sotini animals are attracted one to the other automatically they experience a type of cosmic ecstasy without realizing consciously what they're doing and the result is the is the offspring of that level of deity which is that creature now if you think that is unevolved but you think of deity as being an aspect of all levels of life then again you're putting something outside of god aren't you and that is all wrong so in qabalah we have to come to see that everything that lives lives and is because deity is in eternal union that is Chokmah father of the father the great circle is an eternal union with Bina Ima the fertilized Mother, Cosmic Mother, realize too that one of the Qabalistic names for Binah is Mara which means the sea and Mary the mother of Jesus. Is this because of the same idea? You therefore have pure Qabalah in the story of the birth of Jesus incidentally because you have here one of the Qabalistic names for the cosmic universal feminine principle called Mara the Seas and it's also called bitter incidentally because there is a bitterness that is there is a sorrow the mother of sorrows the feminine principle usually knows far more sorrow in certain understandings because it understands and yet both masculine and feminine principles have all of both still if on the physical plane one is man and one is woman on the astral psychic plane they will reverse their polarity on the mental plane you will have the polarity reversed again so that finally on the spiritual plane you'll have another reversal therefore the masculine principle is positive on the physical and the mental plane the spiritual principle is positive on the emotional and spiritual plane and neither can get along without the other they cannot get along at all because they're not finished they have to merge they have to merge and they cannot merge as long as we are determined to have emotional reactions against the other it is impossible so we have to come to revere the two principles and we have to come to see that those who like to leer and sneer and give their little smoking the smoke the parlor joke they call them the smoking compartments or something like that they seem to think smoking has something to do with it I'm not quite sure why the what the parlor car on train the parlor car on train where they smoke their cigars or whatnot and think of the emotional smoking no doubt this could be this could very well be a part of it the point is that uh these parlor jokes have developed these leers and sneers these vulgarities and what do these indicate vulgarities indicate something pretty terrible terrible because as long as a human consciousness can feel vulgar about an energy which is the love energy an energy of the cosmic life that person isn't remotely capable of the union of selfhood God nor of the union of personal self with another aspect of Godhood the feminine personal self because all unity is God with God masculine and feminine always even when we can see it as low and defiled it is really that but this is the pain of life this is the crucifixion of selfhood with a capital X in order to bring about its self evolution and we must come to see that only reverence beauty glory aspiration should be permitted into the heart the mind the consciousness when we think of the relationships of the opposite sex we must come to see that only as we can transmute these lower levels of our reactions which have come to us because of our immaturities only then will we be releasing energies that are meant to grow us evolve us into the cosmic spiritual unity and incidentally if you cannot love personally that is the opposite sex don't fool yourself don't fool yourself don't think that you can have the experience of cosmic union with God because you can't I don't mean that you have to have a specific personal one if you're not capable of it that's what I mean if you feel that you go that the personal love of the opposite sex is an interference with your spiritual aspirations. You are only using your own misinterpretation, your own unhappiness, your own inability to cope with the pairs of opposites and grow through them as an escape. And you're figuring, well I'll go ahead and have cosmic consciousness or nirvana and you don't you won't get it plenty of human beings of course have had little snatches of higher consciousness and have said ha I'm beyond all this nonsense but that's where they've been sadly mistaken do you know where most of these people have come to the western cultures in next incarnations where they are forced to start looking at life in more practical ways and eventually though I'm sorry to say it takes with most people very much more than one incarnation eventually they have to come to the realization that not until you can see that in the manifesting principle of divinity do you have the capacity to achieve what is provable cosmic consciousness because of the cosmic love inflowing into life without all its false colorations.

Not until then can you be said to have even remotely approached the next evolutionary necessity in life.

So many of the human beings who have achieved what they thought was somatic or nirvana in past incarnations are now fighting with material circumstances and with male-female relationship values and I repeat not until you see that every male-female value whether it come between the ways of enchantments that we see in the various kingdoms you should read some books on this have you have you ever watched little birds charming each other both with song and plumage and they show each other they show off their colors and their design as well as the song in order to enchant and bring the expression of this ecstasy that they are compulsively feeling and wanting and haven't you watched the whole feminine principle seeing which can magnetically attract it the most haven't you noticed the glory and beauty of this? Have you watched the flowers and have you seen the receptivity of the feminine part of the flower to the masculine part bringing more glory and beauty and ecstasy to life and charming look very poet and musician but but what have you said when you've seen it in the human kingdom what have you said this is the point we have to see ourselves as being active manifesting principles of divinity whatever we are on the physical plane this is what we should love being also knowing that we are all things because I remind you if on the physical plane we are feminine on the masculine plane we are therefore emotionally receptive our emotions then are the powerful drive and what woman who's really had intimate contact with man doesn't know that she can influence the emotions of her man in any way she wishes those of you who don't realize this I'd better go out and experiment so that you can recognize the difference between being receptive on the feminine masculine plane projective on the emotional plane receptive on the mental intellectual plane, projective spiritually and those of you who are men should be seeing it in the same way that though you are projective on the physical plane you are receptive emotionally and if you did not have woman you couldn't remotely develop the richness of emotional response and awareness of the subtleties of the heart without woman you could not do this and in the same way without woman you couldn't remotely have the richness of spiritual requirement and drive capacity each needs the other because we are all half of God as a part of the very pillars the pillar of severity which is woman and you say oh severity woman but it's woman who's tender and man is a savage qabalah doesn't agree qabalah says it is a masculine pillar on the right hand side headed by wisdom the number two the gray that is the pillar of mercy and woman is the pillar of severity and I know a woman says ah something wrong here I better go hear some other speaker or take up another school of thought maybe but think a few minutes before you do it honey meditate on that and you'll come to see that the masculine principle as such because it is projective and outgoing is is considered the pillar of mercy because it gives of itself it dissipates itself into everything now isn't this the mercy people who are unbalanced on the side of mercy what do they do they feed weakness don't they this is what being unbalanced in the sight of mercy is they are weak in themselves they haven't got the strength of emotion to hang on they dissipate themselves on the other hand those who are in the area of the pillar of severity the feminine principle now what is it that they do it is the feminine principle it takes that outgoing compulsive masculine seed and holds it it whirls it first in a circle you know the compulsive circle I spoke to you about at the beginning the circle of the cosmic life and everything is in spiral circle in the physical universe the same way in the inner life that's why it's that way in the outer but it's the feminine principle that takes in the wild seed the masculine principle sends out untold numbers of billions or even trillions of seeds in every compulsive act of union. And the Feminine Principle does what? It takes only one, one of all those, that wild dissipation in order to start building a very organized being that becomes the center of selfhood. And naturally wherever you have discipline you always think of severity. But it is a feminine principle that is the disciplining principle never fool yourselves girls it is there's a good reason for all these various glorious little stories that we hear about that that makes the cosmic mother or the feminine principle a destructive and terrifying and fearsome things I understand it well because I am fortunate enough to have had experiences of what is called samadhi and nirvana in which one knows nothing except I I am and I am utter and complete ecstasy and there's knowledge of nothing else a wild ecstatic freedom wild ecstatic freedom but incidentally there's no knowledge of anything else in other words one feels wild ecstatic freedom but there's nothing to be free from one is just an all-over diffusing ecstasy and this is the basic Nirvana this is a basic Samadhi actually you're in ecstasy you even have this awareness of love but there's nothing or nobody to love because there's an awareness of nothing but I and wherever consciousness reaches it sort of creates its own space just like you do in a dream you know you can have anything in a dream you create your space that's what it is in samadhi or nirvana and there's no knowledge of any other eyes or any other awarenesses this is all there is so there's even no knowledge of anything else to be now if this is supposed to be evolutionary advancement uh-uh again you know how the idea of a little truth is a dangerous thing this I can tell you is true of the ideas of nirvana and samadhi ultimate truth is a dangerous things because it's partial it is partial in Qabalah we are not permitted we are not permitted to accept the partial truth that little truth in Qabalah we are told there are two poles if a part of us is this wild undifferentiated free ecstasy which I'll talk to you about more as we proceed with this course there's another part of us which has concentrated itself down it is not wild and it is not free it is disciplining itself because this is the way you give birth to children if you didn't take one seed into your womb if you are female principle disciplining and holding a demarcation line you could not give birth to that glorious unique something that complex amazement that we call our children and our children's children it is in being able to discipline down the whole down into a narrow field concentrate down it is in this that you have individualization therefore to become individualized and therefore to expand the universal consciousness you have the feminine principle which does this the masculine principle keeps pressing more and more force into it like in Kether more and more comes from the behind the veil until there's so much compression that the masculine force can't stand it it must express out in all directions until it evolves a more disciplined way of expressing this and then the feminine force doesn't let it go every way it forces it into a circle the spiral nebulas your planets around the central Sun of a solar system your electrons around the central nucleus of an atom and us, us each expressing these powers.

Therefore masculine, feminine, father, mother, outpouring, inholding, these are the two pairs of opposites which are absolute essentials for the evolution and development of children of God. Without it you couldn't have it. And everything that lives is an expression of this and this is what we are. And if we are going to react to these cheap vulgar stories, these snickerings, these parlor jokes, when sex is spoken about, what we are doing is really putting putting filth in the temple of God the energy that will bring us to the divine height is the same energy that is going to bring us into self-fulfillment and into expressing the divine will knowing what unity of life is has to do with expressing it properly in our attitude towards the opposite sex so let's stop hating men if we're women and let's stop hating women if we're men let's stop being ambivalent if we are let's start saying that the men who are nonsensical are merely children growing towards their fullness and so it is also with the women but that in the deeper aspects one one must love and have the other.

We cannot make it alone, my darlings. We are half of God, whether we're male or female at the moment. And we can talk about the divine androgen from now till doomsday. But if we think carefully, we'll know that the other sex is a mystery to us.

No matter how much we like to brag about how much we can manipulate them, if we can, their reactions are still a mystery because we each need the other and what the other has and not until we revere and appreciate love and strengthen the other whether it be our brother or sister whether it be our daughter or our son whether it be our male or female friend whether it be our lover or loveress whether it be our husband or our wives remember not until we see these beautiful glorious opposite aspects of God as the messengers and the opportunity as something mysteriously drawing and and mystically enticing us towards the more and more of the one life not until we can do this can we even remotely open ourselves to the enlarged consciousness of the most high this is the secret don't listen to the dark forces of the physical plane and the infant of life who have to snicker and essentially oriented train your senses to react with infinite sensitivity as being the way God or deity experiences itself in union sexually with your true mate or mentally and emotionally with all those beautiful aspects of the multi then would you be releasing energies and expressing your own selfhood say it like that jealousy a maximum principle oh the question is is jealousy typical of the masculine principle my answer is no jealousy is typical of the insecure soul whether masculine or feminine jealousy comes when we are not secure in our relationships now our feeling of insecurity may be real or unreal some human beings male or female are incapable of feeling secure with anybody body because of self-hate inability to see themselves as something or someone that can fulfill another determination to wreck a relationship because of certain ambivalences if we are ambivalent ourselves that is having both love and hate or need and hating the need for another of the opposite sex and it's not necessarily the opposite sex we can be jealous of people that are like our friends of the same sex jealousy basically is a feeling of insecurity and a hatred of those whom we decide are the cause of our insecurity when we are secure within our own hearts and souls what does it mean it means that we know we have the capacity to love to give we therefore also have the capacity to be loved and to receive a violently jealous person gives only to be loved instead of because of a need to express love are the person who is not jealous is so happy with the expression of the need to love that love comes back automatically this perhaps is one of the primary differences people who think they love often do not love at all what they are feeling basically is a dependence on someone or something a need on the opposite sex to fill their own emptiness and they are something like tyrants an infant you know is a tyrant it expects to be helped and made comfortable when it screams in an infant it is beautiful acceptable and so it should be but when we grow up or at least when our bodies grow up this infantile reaction is not acceptable and this perhaps is a difference our souls are different ages and if our souls are at an infantile level we are going to be violently jealous because we are not secure in our own selfhood if our souls are matured we will not be however again even if our souls are very immature and infantile we may be covering up a real jealousy by deliberately not letting ourselves love you know how some infants will or small children will be punishing their parents by refusing to kiss them or hug them and throwing some good tantrums in other words they'll make them pretty miserable I'm sure you've watched some children carry on maybe you've been one such child yes now as a child it's perfectly acceptable because all of us recapitulate our own psychological evolution but when we get to be a certain physical age we're expected to have to go on to certain emotional and mental maturities when we don't it's because our souls are very young indeed we wouldn't hang on to what we can sometimes call psychopathic jealousy bear in mind if you are jealous of another you're being an infant whether you're being jealous of a husband or a lover or a friend of the same sex because some they like some other friend better this is infantile because the more riches you have within your own soul the more mature you are the more you are expressing your own selfhood the more you are going to automatically bring the response from the opposite and the fulfillment even though there may be some people who won't so what with life as large and glorious as it is you will find your fulfillment and jealousy is not part of the mature soul this incidentally is not the same as possessiveness which has other subtle aspect to it jealousy has to do with hating something or someone else that one feels is cheating us of our own possessiveness is the desire or the need for someone to be wholly centered upon us it is not quite the same though if one is jealous one is also possessive however one can be possessive without necessarily being jealous perhaps we can cover this idea more in future talks we will try in this series but if you suffer from jealousy remember it is unnecessary learn how to love and appreciate the opposite sex and you will become such a magnus you might even have the delightful problem of learning how to discriminate and perhaps this would be a very fine problem to replace the ones we have which are separative this one at least helps us to grow
